Perfume: Achieving the desired effect

Your fragrance is worth thousand words

When you buy a perfume, you don't do it for the sake of buying it, but because you want to achieve a certain effect with the scent. Or to put it quite banally: you want to smell good. But this is exactly where the problem lies, because every person perceives a fragrance differently and reacts differently to it accordingly. What smells good to me doesn't necessarily smell good to the person I'm with. So what has to taken in consideration?

A perfume is the reflection of one's own personality

A fragrance says a lot about someone and immediately awakens the senses of the person in front of you, just as, for example, a visual appearance does. Therefore, the perfume should definitely reflect one's own personality and additionally underline it. This means that romantics, for example, should choose more floral fragrances, nature lovers more earthy fragrances, energy bundles more fruity fragrances and sporty people more fresh fragrances.

People smell differently in summer than in winter

We often read and hear about seductive or enchanting fragrances. Of course, this is also absolutely individually or depends on the personal sense of smell or olfaction. The effect of a fragrance or perfume also depends on external circumstances such as the season. In spring and summer, for example, lighter and fresher scents are unsurprisingly more popular than heavier, spicier fragrances that unfold better in autumn and winter.

When you can no longer stand your own perfume

There are many fragrances that you generally find rather unpleasant. And it can happen that you can no longer smell your favourite perfume. This is normal and has to do with our nose, which gets used to fragrances over time. In this case, you should simply change your scent and use a different perfume for a few days or a few weeks. That way, you'll quickly find your favourite scent again.
